Thanks
I just read on a google search that a steady 1200-1250deg/f is max.

Still not sure about the "Better stop beating my truck LIMIT"...

From my understanding though, there is a big difference depending on whether or not your pyro is mounted pre turbo or post turbo.

If you're at 1300*, you're pushing it. At 1500* sh!$ start melting.

Hope that helps you.

There is only a 50-75deg difference pre/post turbo. Pre Turbo is hotter so I rather go to where it is the hottest.

Thanks for the Melting point... haha

Is that a steady temp or is that a one time thing. My temp has gotten to as high as 1250 degrees in the performance setting with my foot pushed through the bottom of the pickup. But when i am cruising, even at about 80, it hangs in the low 800s or mid 700s. I assume I am ok with just a hit or miss temp of 1250?

You can take it to 1300*, but just don't keep it at 1300*. This is especially true, if you're towing uphill; that's when you downshift, which will bring the EGTs down.

I try to stay 1250-1300 max while towing. With my old 03, I use to see 1600 all the time. Short 0-100 burst. Not long term. Never had a melt down. I have heard people as high as 2000-2200 doing sled pulls. This is all pre turbo. I have heard post turbo is a few hundred less.

Strokin 6.0? How do you upshift with an automatic trans? Should I keep it in tow haul mode by pressing the button on the shifter? Or leave it off when going uphill? I've noticed the trans temp rise when going uphill at 2300-2500 rpms!
