I've always used 1250 as my high (if thermocupler is pre-turbo).

i drilled and tapped just behind the last exhaust outlet on the underside of the drivers side exhuast manifold. you'll se a small flat spot, center punch the center and drill and tap for the pyro fitting.

I thought that it would need to read after the turbo. But I was not too sure. So putting it on the drivers side of the exhaust manifold is okay to do that. It doesn't need to read off both manifolds /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

the drivers side manifold is the easiest to access. and you don't need to read temps from boths sides. someone here maybe running dual pyrometers. but for regular usage, 1 is fine.
reading temps before the turbo actually gives you more insurance that you don't fry your PSD or kill the turbo. the temps are hotter at the manifold versus after. so the critical temp will be read sooner at the manifold, closer to the source of heat. someone here can probably explain this in more detail.
