electric cooling fan

who's running an electric fan in front of the condensor for better a/c performance? Is this worth while and if so what size/brand fan are you using? Thanks

My AC will make Ice cubes in the truck, no need to make it colder. Maybe you need a check up done?

Adding a fan only helps reduce head pressure in the condensor which helps longevity of compressor but does not help in cooling.

To help the cooling process the evaporator and the heater core are close enough that the air has to pass by them and the damper in the cab may not seal as well as it should, to isolate one from the other.

To solve this many have mod'd their heater line to close coolant flow to the htr core and have reported an avg. of 10* drop in temps.

Some guys will chime in and can give you their details. I went the other way. I had Huper Opticks window tint insalled, a ceramic based film hat made a big difference.

So more ways than one to get there, hope this helped yah out a bit....

Use a A/C temp probe and insert into one of the air ducts, temps should be close to approx. 52-58* depending on charge and how long you drove it to get the cab temp stabil. If it's in the 70's have it checked out.
