guy’s im new to Ford diesel
I’m working on a project vehicle that I will use as a daily driver and to pull 24’ camping trailer, it consisted of a F150 frame, a F250 front and rear suspension and a handmade Hummer Body (made by me in my garage) here picture of it

The project was supposed to be motivated by a 5.8 (351) EFI motor but some one just offered me a complete 1996 E250 school bus with a 7.3 PSD diesel real cheap
The van as 130000 mile on it and it run great.
I need your input on electric fans (I don’t really have room to run mechanical one) i think I should be fine since it never gets hotter than 100deg were I live I don’t plan on installing A/C, the only thing the truck will pull is a camping trailer of about 5000lbs.
I’m thinking about installing the new flex-a-lite monster fan http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/monster-electric.html

Might want to compare your electric fan to This One

$600 for a dual fan setup? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif Yikes!
I bought two PermaCool fans that pull 2950cfm each and installed them on my radiator. I also bought an adjustable temp control unit and the total for all that including shipping was somewhere around $250.

And I tow 10,000# in Texas with no overheating problems.

Just my two cents.

H150,

Welcome to TDS, interesting project and looks very cool. It has been my experience that the 7.3 litre runs cool anyway, I have had mine switched to electrics for some time and they seem to work well thus far. 90% of the time I am empty and tow a TT (+- 7000lbs) remainder of time. I have installed twin two speed Taurus fans, I would guess they are not even close to the stock CFM and truck runs fine thus far (has never overheated) nor gone over the "M" on the gauge....even towing. Will you be using the stock 7.3 litre radiator and an intercooler?

Keep us posted on your project......I have some pix on my fans in my sig under truck stuff.

intercooler I’m thinking about it but there not a lot of space to run one but i could get a small one custom made
