Recently wrapped the brake light wiring in electrical tape and used twisties to fasten the wires to the frame. Earlier today my brakes lights quit working, so I checked the fuse and sure enough it was blown. Quick fix huh? I replaced the blown fuse and checked the lights and problem was solved. Took a trip about 2 miles up the road and the cab filled with smoke. After hacking my lung out (glad we have 2 of those things) I unrolled the window and headed home. The 2 miles home smoke was coming from the air vents. Made it home and found the brake lights were out again with another blown fuse. Went under the truck and found two wires burned through the electrical tape. I cut the wires free of each other and made sure they were separated. Replaced the fuse again and brakes worked....for 2 seconds, then blew the fuse. Now the air vents won't quit blowing when the truck is off and I have no brake lights. Any suggestions? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

if you have air vents blowing with the truck off---you got a hot wire crossed with a blower wire somewhere--and if thats the case--with your smoke tour--youve probably got more wires burnt together----and are asking for a full blown fire--

Check the wiring connectors on the front pax fender (USA) and over by by the booster..... there have been numerous connectors welded together on the fender.......by the booster the wire covering shrinks back and shorts out the wires.....
