The other day I noticed the light on the dash that tells you when the emergency brake in engadged is not working. How do I get to the bulb to check it? Can I just reach up under the dash and find it or do I have to pull the gauge cluster out? If I have to pull the gauge cluster then please explain how.

Also, is there a fuse or a sensor I can check first?

Thanks,

Make sure that the wire to the e-brake is still on. Sometimes it comes off. It is right at the top of the e-brake. Should be a female and male end that just plug right in. Hope it is that simple for ya.

you could check the switch which is on the pedal assembly i believe.

to take out the cluster you need to pop off the headlight switch (pull out then in the slot insert a small screwdriver or hook and pull tab back. then pop the two covers off the dash bezel. easy way to do this with now scratches is to use a right angle hook. i don't know if your year has the little clips on the back (forgot what year they changed them) but if you have the little felt dudes make sure you don't loose them. sometimes they get stick behind the dash. then take those two screws out. from there pull the bezel off. then there is 4 screws in the corners you need to get to to remove the cluster. from there its up to you if you want to pull the whole deal and start replacing bulbs. a lot of people do this while they are in there or put bright bulbs in. but to can just tilt it back and get to the socket. they just twist like a 1/4 turn and pull out. i have replaced some of mine with leds, but you cannot use leds on the abs or voltage indicators as there is a trace amount of voltage that is just enough to kick them on when they are not suppose to be. i know i could get around it but don't feel like messing with all the wires or that cheese laminated circuit deal. anyway any questions let me know or give me a call... 9797393240

Strokerin,
Thanks for the heads up about the switch and it's location. I'lllook at it tonight. I too hope it is tht simple.

Chris,
Thanks for the directions. But if it's all the same, I hope I don't have to use them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif But if I do, thanks for posting them.
