Same Here;
18+ yrs, nearly 300,000 Miles.
Loved the truck to death...
Figure this,,, I've owned this truck nearly 1/3 of my ""ADULT LIFE""...
This truck is a GREAT TRUCK that changed our lives
Diesel trucks are expensive to buy, expensive to run, and expensive to maintain..
What finally got to me, was paying .60 to .80 cents more per gallon for diesel fuel than for gas..
Oil changes every 5000 miles at $125....
Verses $60 every 10,000 miles on a gaser.....
Wife's Prius requires little or NO maintenance [except oil changes] for the first 100,000 miles...
Plus it gets 48/mpg gas ...vs. 15mpg Excursion diesel...
Listed on Auto Trader, and sold it in 3 days, for $16,000
Y2K-X with 4WD, 7.3 Ltr. with all the updates...

I'm considering it now. Mine's been a great truck and still is. Anything tha's been a problem pretty Much has been self inflicted, including a new/rebuild tranny I'm going through now.

It's encouraging to see that much for a 2000 too. Problem is replacing it with something worthy, and not spending $65k for a basic truck.

If I get myself to sell my boat, it'll be easier to sell the bus though.

Congratulations, I think. :)

Same here, just listed my 2K1 PSD X for sale on CarGurus & on this forum's for sale page, we'll see how long it takes to sell.

I'll be sorry to see it go because my kids grew up in that car and we did all of our family road trips in it from the time the kids were in elementary school thru high school graduation and that rig has been so dependable; in almost 280,000 miles, I've only suffered a broken water pump, a busted alternator and a right front wheel bearing coming apart...almost unheard of in today's vehicles....

Except that the Prius would have a world of trouble towing a replacement boat. Doesn't every boat owner eventually upgrade or get another.
Or you could settle for a canoe. The Prius might handle that on top. :winking:

Well, I got meself a little four cylinder car (American made at least); so now I get 2 1/2 times the mpg on a fuel that costs 80 cents less per gallon than diesel, and I still kept the 7.3L to use whenever I need to haul or tow something heavy.

Oddly enough, the guy that purchased my Y2K-X, is using it to tow his boat..
He said he wants to keep it for quite a while...
Here in Florida, you can get an antique license plate for your car in 30 yrs
He's only got 12 yrs to go on it, and the guy is probably less than 30 yrs old...
That's all I can say is I hope he enjoys it as much as we did...
Best vehicle I've ever had....
I wonder if Ford will put their new 7.3 ltr. GAS engine into an Expedition ???
That would be interesting...
