Maybe this is a simple one but I'm not that familer with the 6.0L, more so the 7.3L.
So it bone stock 06 with about 1500 miles on it. Towing a 5th wheel across New Mexico, under 70 mph and the engine just died. Nothing was out of the ordinary, it just died. Towed to Ford on Friday and they can't get it it until the end of the this week. So part of our team is 600 miles from home holed up in a RV and we need to get them ready for the next event.
From what Ford tells me it's out of or low on coolant (the temp guage never when higher than it should have) and it cranks like there is no compression. The service manager says it a common issue with 6.0L but dosen't know what the problem is.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif If my 7.3L did this I'd suspect the CPS, is it the same with 6.0L? I'm 600 miles from the truck so I can't do much but I need ideas and I need to get these people home. Thanks in advance for any help!
I am guessing the branch line blew off the HP Oil pump.I have run into it at work In the International version. It should already have the updated design.Although the cranking without compression deal and coolant loss doesnt sound good.Good luck
