I own a 02 F-250 7.3L, my engine a few times has died when I’ve been driving for about 10 minutes and have to stop at a light. It fires right back up. Now I’m noticing that it wants to stall when I’m driving down the high way occasionally, maybe once every 30 mins. Any thoughts????
Last year I had to fix my UVC harness, it came unplugged on my drivers side, thanks to everyone who pointed me in the right direction with that. I was thinking it might be my IDM, not sure?
I had my engine light come on, but when I shut my truck off and fired it back up it didn’t come back on? So, I didn’t think I would be able to read the code with out the engine light on.

Possibly a CPS issue. They'll act like that.

Mine is acting like that too. I checked the code after wards and it had a p1316.

That code points back to the IDM. I have seen some of the threads mention a buzz test to determine the precise issue, or code stored within the IDM.

I repaired the valve cover harnesses late last year. I double checked to make sure the harnesses were still good by using an ohm meter and checking the readings on both connectors.

I am almost certain I took my truck in to have the CPS replaced when Ford recalled them. I can't remember the date, but it hasn't been that long ago.

I would install another CPS if I thought it would solve the problem. My truck is running fine now, as it did for three months. I don't want it to die on me somewhere.

Ya my CPS is not apart of the recall, or the fauilty ones listed. Is there a way to test if it's the CPS?

When the cps went on both of my trucks it did exactly the same as yours. My first truck died when they were 150.00 now the updated ones are only around 30.00 so it is worth just throwing one in.

Just a little FYI, that bolt is a b*tch to get off... On a plus note, the engine seems to be running smoother.
