When I first start The truck i let it run for a minute or two before taking off. When i pull out onto the road I can Push the pedal to the floor And the thing takes off like a rocket shifting through the gears nice and firm and leaving a nice Trail of black smoke behind me. Give the dang thing a few more minutes of running and I seem to loose power! When i Floor it again it seems to be fine until around 2500 RPM's then it has nothing...it will shift into 2nd and climp RPM's Realy slow...But If i let OFF the throttle while it seems to be dogging out the Engine changes tones and i seem to feel a slight increase in power! Dont get me wrong it still accelerates decent...But almost has the power of a stock programmed truck..Which is not much. Anyone have a clue as to what could be going on here?? Sitting at work today thinking about this i came up with the theory of this.... As my Engine temp rises...my oil Thins out Causing the HPOP not to be able to keep up the pressure to the injecters. Im running shell rotella 15w40 and i remember a post a while back about rotella...Some love it and some swear to never get near it. Im about 2500 miles since ive changed it. Should i give a different oil a shot and what would be recomended other than shell? Or is there anything else to check out that would be causing this problem? Thanks for the help guys!

Change fuel filter if its been a while. Injector cleaner of choice. You might even try unplugging the fuel canister heater (elect plug on back of seperator)

You could try swapping to synthetic for one oil change and see if that makes a big difference. My truck does not like Rotella in the winter.

Exhaust Back Pressure Valve or even the Waste Gate could be sticking.

I had a a prob. With the EBV sticking when i first got the truck so i unplugged it. Do you mean the wastgate could be sticking open?? And for the record When i stand on the pedal for 10 sec's or so i do throw an SES light which is either too much boost of the HPOP lagging....

I've noticed the same thing. my $0.02
Cooler denser air also makes for more HP and a more responsive feel. After a run or two the intercooler is going to matain some heat and the air getting to the engine will be hotter. Less black smoke from more complete combustion from the higher temps. Try running a garden hose over the intercooler or go thru the car wash, feels like the engine is cold again and pours black smoke out. The guys at the car wash I used to go to loved it. That and the slippery road got the tires spinning and could barely pull away from the car wash, it would just sit and spin.
