Only at idle i can here a tic, tic, tic, tic, tic, tic, it almost sounds like a loose rocker on a gasser.Is this normal?I guess I'am just asking the question out of curiosity, i always thought it was normal I have had the truck for 70k, it now has 100k and has done it since day one.Other than that sounds and runs good.

My truck has the same thing... I have had it for a little over a year and have always wondered. I notice that other 7.3's dont do it but then some do and it seems to be running fine for me so what ever.

A brief summary is that the sound is called "cackle" and is caused by air in the fuel getting to the injectors.
