Does it sound like this?

If so... do a search on "cackle" in the 7.3 sections or in the archives, or on google as: cackle site:www.thedieselstop.com

Be sure to set aside a solid month with no sleeping or eating if you want to try and read it all. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif A lot of good info, discussion, argument, fixes, etc.

A brief summary is that the sound is called "cackle" and is caused by air in the fuel getting to the injectors. There are many fixes, including "Hutch mods" or prepump and intank mods, regulated return, etc. All will be discussed in the Cackle reading, and a search on the individual fixes will turn up just as much reading as the cackle talk. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif
