I am just comparing prices between Ford and International. Fords OK with the VIN # but International wanted an engine serial #. Does anyone know where this is located.

As mentioned, stamped into the block above (and I think a little to the rear) of the oil filter and also sometimes on a sticker on the front of the High Pressure Oil Pump (HPOP) reservoir (most of the time this is long gone). Cheers!

Like PAT says, the pad is machined flat & smooth into the engine block right behind the filter base & oil cooler rear header block. The numbers are small, maybe 1/8th inch tall, and the pad will be rusty, use sandpaper or Scotch-Bright to make the numbers stand out.
