In the last couple of weeks I have had an intermittent studder when driving at constant speed down the highway. Only once every few days or a week. It has died twice while letting off on fuel during this time. This morning it studdered a couple of times and the check engine light came on. Does this sound like a CPS failing?

I have been out of the country and have not kept up for a while, so I don't quite remember. Any help with a diagnosis would be appreciated.

Sounds more like the UVC harness coming loose. Check the connections on each side, they come from the valve cover and connect to a larger harness in the valley. Make sure all the pins look good and aren't corroded or burnt. Could also be a CPS, they can act like this. You really should have the codes read, this will tell you what to look for.

Ditto on the codes......... that will point you in the right direction - I was convinced I had bad UVCH plugs until I read my codes - now the IPR is the target...... codes are the first step in troubleshooting /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Mine was doing that almost exactly. As I have an extended plan, I took it in yesterday. They called, and said it was the CPS, so I had them go ahead and change it.

So far...(1/2 day) it is running fine. I'll keep close tabs, and see if that changes .
