I was backing out of a driveway from the private dock I was working on. Had the wheel hard over to the left while backing, when I shifted to forward and hard over right, the engine stumbled like starving for feul till I eased up on the hard over wheel. It was level ground, backing real slow to avoid the low trees (Live Oaks). 1/4 tank of feul when this happened. My local dealer, had to replce my PCM last month when my CEL came on after they did an alignment. I had 7100 miles on it then. My tailpipe now has a wet look to it, but used to be a dry soot. Should I worry or not? Bare bone stock '05 E350, 'cept the radio and the inverter.

I've got the same issue....sounded and felt like it was going to stall. I have an appt with dealer the week of the 18th to have this and a couple of other things checked out.

I had 2 e-450's last week that would do same concern. Wire chaffing is a big concern on E series. The connector to the TCM will rub on the dipstick tube and chaffe through causing trans concerns, I remove harness and install 5 inches of convolute to the end of the harness and tape up. There is also a bundle of wires at left front of intake manifold. I had an injector high side fault code in pcm, and when I would wiggle/push on this part of harness (near left front intake) I could get the engine to stumble. I monitor power balance and was able to verify #2 cylinder miss. Replaced harness. On other E-450, it would stall, tach would go to 0 rpm while driving, glow plug light would come on, and water in fuel light would come on. Also replaced harness on this vehicle.
