Has anybody ever installed one of these. If so is it as easy as they say and are they as good as everyone who sells them claims? Other than the Hensely Arrow with is 2plus grand this seems to be the only other easy to use hitch that provides both sway and equalizing in one unit.

I didn't install it on my trailer but it's real easy to operate. Throw out the wrench they give you, attach to the ball, jack up the trailer, attach the load bars, drop the trailer down and you're ready to go. I've only towed a couple of times with it, so far so good.

The HA and Pullrite are considered the top of the line in hitches. I have had very good experience with my Equal-i-zer. I switched to it after a white knuckle trip with another brand and friction bar sway controller. When moving cross country with a heavy load in the truck and the TT, I had to readjust the head angle on the Equal-i-zer hitch for optimum sway control and then reset it when towing for normal travel and camping. People using the Reese with the Dual Cam for sway control report good results also.

I installed one on my Arctic Fox 29V. Have used it for 3 years. Installed easy, works fine. Just follow their detailed instructions. Only problem I had was the shank clamping nuts working loose (not real loose - just loose enough to rattle). I fixed with Loctite and back up nuts.

Just wondering what angle provides better sway control - ball angled more up or down?

Visualize the washer/head angle setup. More washers = more angle from vertical = more down pressure on the bars and "L" brackets. I added extra washers with the heavy load to improve the sway control that time.

I too use the Equal-i-zer to pull my TT. It's the only kind I've ever used so I can't compair it to any other brands BUT I would say that I've never had any occasion where I didn't think it was doing it's job. I (and I mean me, not my husband) pull the trailer and I wouldn't if I didn't think it was safe and controlable.
