I have a 97 F-250 and I was just idling down the street one morning and the check engine light came on and it started running real rough, like it dropped a few cylinders. Luckily I was only a block from home and I was able to limp it back. I broke down and got an Edge Evolution and came up with the P0236 code. What exactly does this mean, I know its the Turbocharger boost sensor circuit, but where do I start with it? My first instinct is to just start swapping parts but as you know, they aren't cheap parts.

I tried to start it again this weekend and it starts up perfectly, but then stumbles and dies after about two seconds.

Any ideas?

Disconnect the electrical connection, but not the boost line, to test it. If you need a new one, the best price I found was at www.tsetruckstuff.com for $75.44. PN DY708. This xrefers to Ford PN F4TZ-9F479-A which is the correct sensor per Ford Article 94-23.15.

Unplug your ICP sensor. Its the sensor sticking out of the head on the drivers side, towards the front of the engine.

Is you fuel bowl filling with fuel? If you havn't already try draining the fuel bowl...crank the motor and see if it fills the bowl back up. If not then I'd say you're in need of a new fuel pump...

Fuel pump works well. I changed out the fiter and I got it started again last night. Maybe it's coincidental but all I did was wiggle some wires and reset the codes. The check engine light is off now.
Then I was driving and it started acting up again. It started getting sluggish and all the sudden it died right in the middle of an intersection. I got it started up again and made it home, thankfully I was only a few blocks away. I had a spare ICP that I installed after that episode so I don't know if that was the cure or not.

I guess what I need to do is start wiggling wires while it's running to see if it happens again.
