A friend of mine drives a 2000 cc 4wd PSD and the 4wd light won't come on.Checked all fuses,made sure the transfer case plugs were plugged up-even took the relays out of my truck(from under hood) and replaced his one at a time to no avail.I have no clue to what wire goes to what-any idea as to which wires we could check for power,or anything else?Thanks in advance.

Does it not go into 4x, or is the light just not coming on?

it doesn't go into 4wd at all.It's not a vacuum problem I don't think because the light still comes on when you have a vacuum leak,right?His light doesn't.Thanks.

It is a electric step motor that does the shifting. If the motor does not move the shifter the proximity switch does not get tripped thus no light or 4x4. If you did have 4x4 but no light then I would check for a bad dash bulb. Sounds like the shifting motor went bad or is not getting juice.
