I'm scared to post this for fear of the worst, but could yall let me know whether or not this would be considered "excessive blow-by"? I did the "oil cap test", and it does fine, but the amount of smoke I find concerning.

If it’s not popping it off, just vibrating to the side, you’re fine. Your crank case breather on top of the driver’s side valve cover is probably blocked up some. That the plastic intake off. Unscrew breather. Wash it out. Might need Orings. Don’t loose yours taking it off. They might be hard to get but you can go online and buy a whole assortment in a plastic box for under $20. Make sure it says they will hold up to oil.

I wouldn't use garden variety o-rings on the CCV doghouse. The ones sold by Ford or International are a diamond cross-section rather than round. And they are much harder (90 durometer) than the hardware store stuff. You can get them from Diesel-o-rings. Link
