Can you use the warm up valeve on the exhaust as a exhaust brake?

Yes, you can do this, but keep in mind the EBV was never designed to be an exhaust brake and the butterfly is much thinner than an exhaust brake will be and the bushings are also not designed for this type of use either.

I have the Banks exhaust brake on my truck and it works very well. If you have an automatic trans you will also need a device to keep the TC locked up and the line pressure up so the clutches in the trans do not slip.

If you are looking for features no one else has brought to the EBV brake market, ours offers a good many reasons to consider.

1. Integrated TC control
2. Cruise control interface for an easy install and use.
3. Plug ins for the TC and EBV conn and even the Pedal if you have an 01 and up model with the newer style pedal connector.
4. Attractively priced. No we aren't the cheapest guy in town, but you will get a lot of value for your dollar iwth us.

There are quite a few posts on a couple of threads in here on the SSEB/SSTC/SSEBTC series controllers. We use the same box, and depending on how it's harnessed and programmed determines what you get. So you can always upgrade to the latest software and always upgrade if you don't buy the full on unit right away.

I just installed the SP Diesel about two weeks ago and it works great!!!! My first big test drive pulling the trailer was over the Grapevine between Bakersfield and LA. It's a pretty good grade and I came down it easily without having to use the regular brakes!!!! With the exhaust brake engaged, I maintained a safe speed by just taking the truck out of OD!!! That was not the case without the exhaust brake, I have done that a couple of times!!

Our next big test will be north to Alaska, and I feel the exhaust brake will really make the trip easier and safer, and equally important, my co-pilot thinks so too!!!

The install was also pretty easy, and for me to say that, it would be a breeze for most (this was my first install of any add-ons). I had four wires to splice and a couple of plug-ins and I had never used splices before.

I'm happy with it!!
