Does anyone know if there is a "donut" gasket on the exhaust leading to the turbo. The area I'm talking about is up against the fire wall, the one that comes from the drivers side manifold up to the turbo. I have black soot all over the pipe in that area and after washing the engine with it running bubbles are forming.
Thanks

Yes. There are 2 donuts, 1 on each up pipe where they connect to the Y pipe which is clamped to the turbo. The Y pipe to turbo is metal to metal. No gasket. No donut.

I have mine apart right now and bought 2 doughnuts today at Ford. One of my up pipes is worn about 1/4 of the way through from the inside diameter of the doughnut. Cost of a new up pipe is $40. Someone else on here said they just stuck progressively larger diameter sockets inside the pipe and beat it until the doughnut was a tight fit... Not a bad idea IMHO.
In other words, you may be into it for some time and money. Be sure to buy the new o-rings for reinstalling the turbo while you are at it.
