Was wondering what the difference in sound is if any between aluminized and stainless, same size pipe same muffler.

The Stainless sounds like ALOT more money... haha

Stainless is probably harder metal, but I dont think there would be a difference in sound. I have two pieces of alumanized in my factory pipe(i put them there) they look better then the factory pipes(not as rusty). I think the factory uses a cheaper grade of stainless.

Aluminized will, depending on where you live, deteriorate faster than stainless steel.

T409 Stainless, as I understand it, is less brittle than T304 Stainless, and therefore holds up better, but the T304 is brighter and used if you want to show the truck.

If you live in the Rust belt,You are wasteing your money on the aluminized.Couple winters of the crap they salt the roads with here and it be definately rotting on you.

They still salt in PA? I'm originally from York, and I remember some crappy winters there in the 70's. You could always tell where the Mason Dixon Line was, because Maryland always took better care of their highways.

Oh yeah They salt the livin [email protected]& out of these roads this time of year.They use liquid calcium,Regular road salt and Salt brine out of Oil and gas wells from around the area.You can hear it rotting your car away Lol!!!! It is really hard on vehicles, Rots away bridge decks on the roads.Not much else they can do though
