I just purchased a 2011 F-450 Lariat 4x4 Superduty. I want to put a gearvendor OD on it and I may be able to get one off of a 2010 F-450. Are the transfer cases the same on both trucks and have the same bolt pattern? Gearvendor said they aren't selling the OD units for the 6 speed auto because of loading up the overdrive. I know pulling with it may do that but I just want it for cruising empty. I asked him what is the difference between a 4.30 rear with gearvendor (reduction of 22% = 3.35 final drive ratio), versus a stock f-250 truck with a 3.31?? He wouldnt answer that question. So if the 5 speed auto trucks have the same transfer case, then the adapter will work for my truck also.

So far I love this truck. Test drove all the brands and was initially goin got get a dodge again. I like this truck better and the fuel economy is good even with the 4.30 rear:thumbsup:

I too wanted a gear vendors and was told the same thing - it'll burn up the tranny. Didn't make sense to me either for the same reason you pointed out. Would be nice to lower the rpms when cruising empty.

I would think the transfer case is the same between the 5 speed and 6 speed auto. I need to get under one and have a look
