Hi all ;

recently bought a large piece of property out in the wild wild north of Canada , quite the jump from the city but owning land is sweeeettt , anyhow was driving on the highway the other day , and one thing that we have alot of round here is deer and moose , some poor bugger had hit a nice size buck with his Honda accord , wasn't alot left of the front end , really got me thinking about welding up a front bumper or bush guard , been trying to find pictures or plans but with little luck , wonder if someone has done the same thing ?? Ive seen the pretty little chrome ones that you can buy from the aftermarket companies , but I think that those are gonna cause more damage as their so lightweight , more for looks. Also anyone know where you can buy an off the shelf skid plate for a 2000 f350 , just love the way those aluminium cooler lines hang down in the front , good stump and I can kiss those goodbye , anyhow cheers all and thanks in advance

Both of these make some beefy bumper/grill guards. I have a South Texas Outfitter product which I really like. But geez you hit a deer down here you get out of the truck and look for damage. Hit a moose and your lucky if they just take you out of the truck and place you in a box!

There are some really nice pictures you might get some ideas from. Look on ebay, they may have some on there or you could order from the company and get the real McCoy.

I punched a moose with my UTE. Was going 50, skidded about 20 feet after locking the brakes on dry pavement. Moose got up and ran away. Broke one of my Hellas and after about 30 minutes of buffing the bumper couldn't see any evidence of the impact.

I like that Ranch Hand, especially the receiver in the middle.

I've also got a STO front end. With a receiver tube. They do great work, and will customize your bumper to your needs.

I called a couple of other manufacturers before going with my STO. The others were unwilling to make the changes I wanted without charging me HUGE money.

Call Jay at STO. Well worth the money.

VTFireftr,

You have any pics of the STO front end? Also, how much did it set you back?

Not speaking for Marc, but the standard bumper is $995- that's for the full front end painted black. Some things are extra such as big light tabs (for my lightforces) and front hitch. Whatever you want, they do.
Regards,
Chase
also, check my webshots for pictures. mine is painted gray to match.

Thanks for the pics. I have the same color truck as yours and was wondering how it would look if I had it color matched. I also just realized that STO is right around the corner from me. Suppose I could just waltz over there and see their setup. At the same time, I guess I'd like to have somewhat of an idea of approx. how much coin I'd be lookin' to drop ahead of time.
