F350 with 12 foot steel flatbed a common sight, but in looking thru the Trader Online I can't find a single example of used versions with Supercabs and 12 foot flat...they all have either utility beds, or the 9 foot gooseneck type beds on them. True of Chevy's and Dodge too.

So, finding a used one looks pretty hopeless, but now I'm wondering if even a new one is possible in F350 supercab. Are there maximum wheelbase length issues that make this problematic ? I wouldn't think so considering the much longer beds of F350 rollback trucks, but the lack of a single used example of a supercab with bed longer than 9 feet for sale in the entire country makes me wonder.

What say ye ? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Ford SuperCab F-350 and F-450 and F-550 chassis cabs come in only one cab-to-axle (CA) = 60" or 5'. So an 8' bed is common and some stretch it out to 9'.

Ford CrewCab chassis cabs come in 60" and 84" CA. With an 84" CA, you could go to 10' or maybe even 11' bed.

Ford regular cab chassis cabs come in 4 different CA = 5', 7', 9' and 10'. So if you want a 12' bed, you need at least a 9' CA, so that means you'd have to settle for a regular cab.

Jerr-Dan, Champion, and the other major wrecker manufacturers won't install a roll-back bed on a '99-up F-350. Not enough payload and not enough CA for a loaded roll-back. You have to have a GVWR of 19,000 pounds, so most now go with F-550 regular cab, which has an optional 120" CA and 19,000 GVWR.

And even the F-550 roll-back is sorta rare now. Most of the new ones are on class 6 trucks, such as the F-650 and FL-60 and International 4300.

Go to www.sunrisefordfleet.com and you can D/L the order guides for Ford chassis cab trucks that tells you what is available to order.
