The problem with all this discussion about tow weight, is y’all are not taking in to account liability. You guys that are loading theses trucks up with all this excess weight are not thinking about what’s going to happen when you have a accident and kill someone because you could not stop the vehicle or you loose control because of the excess weight. The DOT only cares about how much tax you are paying to operate your vehicle. They don’t give a crap in most states what the manufacturer says you can haul/tow. But you can rest assured the injured party’s lawyer will. The next problem comes in when it’s time to file a claim with your insurance, and this is a real killer. If you are operating beyond what the manufacturer says you can do, be prepared for your insurance to deny your claim. Go read the fine print. Operating in a negligent manner will most likely get you denied, and operating a vehicle beyond the manufacturers limits is negligent. Now you have a lawsuit against you and no insurance. Hope you have deep pockets. Yes i know how old this thread is, it’s still a relevant topic.

LOL, that's exactly why they made the F-600
Well said! Get a truck made to handle the load rather than trying to somehow justify an unsafe overload.
