Hi, got called down to tractor trailer parking for a 6.0
It starts and runs smooth. I bring it up near 2k rpm and it's missy and will sometimes blow blackish over fuel smoke. My Ficm will sometimes stay at 48 but will drop as low as 46 . I think I can actually hear it get blurby or Missish as the volts swing down and clear as it goes up to 48 and then back. Other Ficm would raise to 13.5 with the alternator.
What say y'all? Have him buy a Ficm? Can it be gotten programmed or whatever it needs? Where to buy?
Thank you gentleman for the help, in advance
Nick

Shoot, I forgot.
It's saying brake not applied does not change.

Any test I should run? I believe that brake was preventing me from doing tests. It initially had 8 balance fault but cleared as he did not know if it was old. Once I did that I started poking around in self test and that kept popping up.

Yesterday, I drained the fuel bowl to get water out as his light was on. He has owned it for 2yrs and has no idea when fuel filters last changed. I'm going to change filters and chase this number 8 balance fault high end miss pushing stinky overfueling smoke.
It doesn't do it till top end, it appears.
He also complained that in the summer the floor boards seem to hot. Never heard that before, guess I'll look at back pressure to see if he has a restriction heating stuff up.

Was hanging hopes on that Ficm. They few times I've looked at 6.0s, they were always dead steady at 48. This starts there and then starts moving around up and down as its running. It went as low as 46.

Ed at ficmrepair.com will send a pre programmed FICM if you make a refundable core charge and another small fee. Then you send yours back. It might be quicker. Call Ed. I understand he is very helpful over the phone and will tell you if your symptoms might be the FICM.

They say it's ok now but might be on the way out.

So as of right now, my plan is to check pressure, as it had the water in fuel light come on while scanning. He said that was a first. I asked about fuel filters and he did not know, so with it being a number 8 balance fault and it being in the back I'm starting to think low pressure might have damaged that injector.

Bismic, how does this sound? I saw you looking at the thread.
