I spent 4 1/2 hours installing a set of these on the truck. Wow what a difference they made. The model used was the #2071 and bought from Amazon.com for $265 and three days later they have them for $217

At any rate they are well worth it - as for I am close to the max GVWR and with the longer leaf springs they put on the 08 models and mine has the heavy service front springs so the back was getting the hit all the time and was having problems with spring slap from the overloads as for I was 3/4" away from them.

Compman72-Thanks for the posting on the install. I am going to install a set of AirLift bags next week on my 08 F250 for the same reason you did. By looking at your pic I noticed your bags are compressed alot, probably because of the extra overload spring which I have also. Was this a problem during the install, and once bag is aired up to 20psi or so is it OK. I think the instructions on mine say to have a minimum of 4 1/2-5" but there is no way with that overload spring! Any tips you have would be appreciated. Thanks.

Compman72- What did you do on the jounce bumpers? I think the Airlift setup has new brackets for the jounce bumpers that only give about 1 1/2'' of travel. Doesn't seem like much. Again your tips are appreciated. Thanks

Jounce Bumpers

The Jounce bumpers never moved - left them alone there is plenty of room in between the air bag and the yellow rubber bumber.

The kit that I installed called for 5" - 6 1/2" plate clearance - I set it at 3 1/2" - and the reason was because I was wanting to get to the factory clearance between the helper and the helper stop. I estimated by looking at a new truck at the lot to see what should be there verses what I have.

I called Ride Rite to see about the dimensional change of 2" and they said that is what I needed to do is adjust the gap for the 2" difference that I wanted.

Once you do the passenger side the other is easy.

I do have 4 pics posted in the gallery on here compman72 Gallery - TheDieselStop.Com Photo Hosting

I am currently running 35# in each side and drove 100 miles today and I can say WOW what a difference they made.

post back or pm if you have any questions - understand that there are inside the frame systems and no drill kits available.

The kit I have is the Airlift 5000 and it is mounted on the outside frame and almost identical to your Firestone kit. I asked what you did with the jounce bumpers because this kit has a bracket to lower the jounce bumpers about 1 1/2"-2''.I am not sure if I want to use the bracket because it limits travel before the jouncers hit, but if the bags developed a leak the added brackets would prevent damage to the bags and mounts by limiting the suspension travel also.I guess I will find out next week when I install them. Also installing upfitter switches (didn't come on the truck)to add the on-board compressor for the bags.

Post an update when you get them installed with some pics if possible.
