Dyno Feb 6th 2009 - TheDieselStop.Com Photo Hosting
In February Beans Diesel Performance got the van and did an outstanding job with all of the installation. The AirDog is a plus along with the regulated fuel return with bowl delete that is his own setup as other companies that used to offer a van kit had discontinued them. It was a toss up to go with stage two split shot or single shot injectors, drawback being I was told the split shot would be a little quieter mostly at idle, and the single shot would have more power. The single shot seems to be a good decision especially after Jody did the live tuning. Jody re flashed my factory computer which was split shot over to the single shot. Bean suggested the Stealth stage one HPOP along with a Dominator 66 turbo which is a perfect combo. Bean says that combo helps achieve the "table top" you see on the dyno page. While he was in there I had him replace the water pump, GPR, and glow plugs. I had never seen a vehicle dyno'd and needless to say it was very exciting to see my van screaming with 427 hp and over 900 ft lbs of torque. Keep in mind that is with a totally stock air box !!!!!!!! After the installation, I took my van and trailer Rig for live tuning with Jody - TheDieselStop.Com Photo Hosting to Georgia to see Jody for some live tuning. Well worth the drive for sure. He spent about 6 hours with me and 126 miles dialing in every thing I wanted and got it as good as it gets. The AirDog and regulated fuel return along with Jody's tuning has made made the idle absolutely perfect and I would say lower noise than my stock split shot injectors were. He got the shift points perfect with the trailer, and then we did it again without the trailer for perfect shifts when not towing. Jody setup a couple of tunes for towing and a couple without towing. After all of this, I am EXTREMELY pleased, as the van will ABSOLUTELY FLY, but with the flick of a switch it is as tame as can be for a daily driver. My van and trailer weighed 13,140 LBS total weight when DPTuner did the live tuning - TheDieselStop.Com Photo Hosting and that was almost empty when Jody did the tuning. Coming back from Georgia I set the chip on 60 hp and got 12.4 mpg with the gps saying my average speed was 62 mph and yes I was trying to see how good the fuel mileage could be. I believe if I keep my speed below 60 it might climb up around 13 or so. Both of the companies involved in this last bit of the project were a real pleasure to work with, and helped me achieved what I set our to do, and that was to create a powerfull towing van that would be as dependable as a stock one. Mission accomplished.

Great numbers! Get some water on there, and you should see a nice increase in power.
