Saturday morning getting back from the boat store, my truck experienced it's first regeneration at idle. I parked the truck, put the gear shifter in park, applied the parking brake and the engine RPM's rose from app 600 to app. 1200. I knew what was happening, I exited the truck to see how hot the exhaust really was. It was hot. I was able to hold my hand 8" from the exhaust tip for about 5-10 seconds before it got too hot. With the higher engine RPM, the heat is blowing out a distance of about 3-6 feet. My exhaust tips are still clean, soot free at now 650 miles. I climbed into the bed and checked the floor for excessive heat, it was no hotter than the rest of the bed from the sun's rays. Truck is running excellant, better than any other truck I have owned, even better than my '04 6.0. I have crawled under it everywhere, no bell housing drip(no assembly lube, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif) dry as a bone. Can't help but noticing how much larger the coolant reservoir is, quantity does not rise and fall either. Truck does wander a bit on crappy roadways, I suspect the more aggressive Continental tires that come with the "Off Road" package are the culprit. So far mileage is hitting right at 11mpg. I have washed the truck twice in one week, it sure is purty.
