I did some calculating and figured that it would be cheaper to use Ford Cetane booster (4oz per 25 gal fuel) versus Standyne (4oz per 15 gal fuel). Depending on the price you can get each product for, you will use less ounce per gallon with the Ford product. I get both products for .27 per ounce. My only concern is Standyne advertises "lubricity" as a big selling point and the Ford product doesn't go near the work "lubricity".

I've used Standyne for years in my 97 and liked it. What are peoples thoughts on the new Ford Cetane/Performance Improver? If I recall correctly, Ford authorized the use of Standyne in the past.

I have used both, I get the ford stuff free along with the ford lubricity additive, so I use them together. No difference in the two that I can tell.

Does Ford offer a lubricity additive?? I was under the understanding, that they only had two different diesel additives. The cetane booster (PM-17-A), and the anti-gel + cetane booster (PM-18-A)

What is the part number for the lubricity additive?

Thanks.

don't have the number handy, it is required everytime an injector is installed under warranty. Most prolly do not know about it, we stock cases of the stuff where I work.
