My 6.7 has a leak that is showing signs of a possible upper oil pan leaking. Has any one taken their trucks in for this same reason? And how much did it cost you with parts and labor?
I have a 2016 F350, deleted. So I’m guessing it wouldn’t be under warrantyMy 6.7 has a leak that is showing signs of a possible upper oil pan leaking. Has any one taken their trucks in for this same reason? And how much did it cost you with parts and labor?
Okay so not under warranty. What would the cost be though to have them mess with it where they have the ability to do so with lifts instead of me hoping I’m doing it right in my garageThe fact that it is deleted is not the issue rather the fact that the truck is 6-7 years old unless you have an extended warranty. An engine oil leak is covered under the 5 year / 100,000 mile diesel engine warranty. If you are outside of that then yes - no warranty.
My truck maybe has the same problem. It only leaks oil in the winter. I’m taking it to the dealer to get it looked at today. My 6.7 has a leak that is showing signs of a possible upper oil pan leaking. Has any one taken their trucks in for this same reason? You didn't say what year CCV could be plugged check that if it has a filter it needs to be changed The CCV filters that need to be changed regularly have bolts around them that hold the filter in the ones that don't need changing have no bolts but they have a vacuum diaphragm next to the hose that goes to the Turbo intake that sometimes failsMy 6.7 has a leak that is showing signs of a possible upper oil pan leaking. Okay I’ll check it out later today and let you know thanks!check for bolts on cover i tgink this is one that needs serviced The one without the filter fits it has no bolts on the cover it is an upgrade I would buy that 1 if I had to
A lot of times with excess blow by it will leak out of the upper Pan hopefully you've caught it in time and this takes care of the problemOkay I’ll check it out later today and let you know thanks!
Your truck will not have a CCV oil separator assembly containing a filter. Generally upper oil pan to cylinder block oil leaks are not associated with CCV restrictions though elevated crankcase pressure may exacerbate any oil leaks from the engine. The repair for your upper pan is to reseal the pan using the proper procedures, cleaning and sealing surface preparation with the proper chemicals and sealant.I have a 2016 F350, deleted. Yes I may have underestimated my cost. LOL It is not a cheap job and not easy to do. Personally I would not want to do this myself without a lift.Assuming your truck is a 4WD there's almost 14 hours labor involved. Not sure what the shop rates are around there but I think the dealers around here are around $150.00/hr. so you can figure $2000.00 for the labor. The Ford sealer for the the pan is around $40.00, you will need a couple of gaskets for oil pan, the oil cooler and the filter base plus fluids and an oil filter. With tax and shop fees I would expect to be out around $2500.00 at a dealer. The transmission has to come out and it's massive, no way to do it without a good transmission jack.
That isn’t possible, there is no way to slide the oil pan out with the flex plate still bolted to the crank. You must be thinking of the lower oil pan. Upper REQUIRES the transmission to be at the least, slid back.Neither would I. I have also made this repair with the transmission in.
