I was checking fluids yeterday and realized that my battery blankets had been chewed on and a nest made. I found one wire that had been nibbled on and fixed it immediately. I placed numerous bait blocks throughout the engine compartment. I checked the bait today and it was already eaten! I am wondering if this was a bad idea of poisoning them while in the truck, but I don't know what else to do. Is there a common place where these critters would nest? I am afraid that they will get in a bad place and die.

What is the best way to get rid of those things? I know they don't like downy dryer sheets, but I don't want to put those in the engine compartment due to fire hazard. Is there something else to make them run away?

I used to drive this truck every day so I never had a problem. It may go a week without getting driven now and I know that doesn't help. It also sits in the barn, but it alway has. I thought the cats were doing their job, but I guess not.

If others have experience with this....PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! I don't want a electrical problem!

THANKS!!!

Try Moth Balls.
They seem to work well in keeping them away.
Will naturally evapourate over time.

One area to watch for nest-building is inside the airbox.
I had one van where the whole air filter was covered in nesting material.

Good luck!

You sir need to fire those cats and get some new ones  ..or don't feed them for awhile and soon the mice will be gone.

Good luck with the problem, I wish i could be of real help but I haven't had a mice/rat problem (yet:icon_rolleyes:)
