Shimming the FPR I think gives a little better response and maybe some power...I'd guess that cleaning the screen should just help support the shimmed FPR do that a little easier. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

I've read so much on this subject I'm a bit confused myself!

I have heard some claims that the FPR screen being dirty is only a sign of your injector o-rings going, nothing more, I don't think I agree with this one, cause other junk can and does get into the fuel system.

I have heard several claims that cleaning the screen improved idle stability and mileage, no confirmation on that one myself yet.

I have also read a few claims that it helped with smoke.

I think if nothing else it should be part of every good owners preventative maintenance schedule.... when I bought my truck and got it home, I checked it after reading up here, and the screen was GONE! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Oh yeah I forgot about the o rings. That the stuff on the screen was actually from them.

I didn't notice any difference in anything, really, after shimming/cleaning mine.
