Just some basic tools.... The main thing is a large C clamp to push the piston back into the caliper to make room for the thicker brake pads. Also some slide pin lube to grease up the caliper slide pins...

good luck,
Steven

When I did my brakes for the first time at 63k miles on OE pads, I needed the big ass sledge to get the rotors off. Boy was that a workout.
Also, mine turned into a "while we're here" thing as I found seals that needed replacing, and front hubs that needed attention. (Your mileage may vary)

I second the massive "C" clamp...and a BF sledge. Grab some slide lube/anti squeak goo and inspect everything else while you've got the wheel off.

ON a side note, when I put my new pads on, I didn't measure the distance between rotor/pad with a gauge or anything, assuming it wasn't necessary. Is there a minimum/maximum distance that is necessary between the pad and the rotor?
