Recently replaced my brakes all the way around, new rotors and pads. Ever since I experience a periodic squeal coming from the left front. Last week I removed it to inspect and found that one of the anti-vibration springs had broken. Figuring that this was the problem I purchased a new one from the local ford dealer. After getting it back together the squeal is worse!! My question is has anyone just removed the springs? I have anti-squeal spray on the backs of the pads and I just don't see the reason for the springs that go between the pads. Any ideas???????

Honestly, the anti-squeal sprays can cause more problems then they solve.

The V-springs are there to spread the pads away from the rotor to assist in preventing excessive rotor wear, mostly at the high runout areas of the rotors.

Some brake pad formulations just make noise.
