My 2011 F250 front end will shake or bounce if I hit some rough roads at highway speeds. It's almost like the tires go totally out of round. I have to slow down or pull over until it stops, then get back up to speed again. It does not happen very often. It did it once with my shop foreman although not as bad as it had before. My foreman said the tires had 10psi too much and we lowered them down to the recommended 65psi. He said there has been a bulletin out for over/under inflation. This helped some, but a week later I was going into a curve and hit some bumps. The front started to bounce and almost walked me into an 18 wheeler in the next lane. It scared the **** out of me. I had to pull over and slow down, then resume. Next visit they pulled the front suspension parts and checked them for any wear or out of spec parts. All was good and they replace my shocks with heavier duty units, and said the stabilizer was ok.
The shaking did happen again, although not as bad. Their next move is this Monday to check the alignment and compare it to the new trucks on the lot. I was told if that was not out, they were probably going to replace all the factory Michelins. Since I am planning to travel out of town this weekend, I decided to go ahead and replace the tires with some BFG A/T KO's. 285-65-20's. I normally put these on my trucks when I buy them. I can already feel a big difference in the handling. The smaller pot holes and rough spots don't feel nearly as unstable. I am assuming this was my issue all along. I heard from the tire store of three other people with the exact same problem I had/have. I still need more time to see if it will happen again, but has anyone experienced this yet??
Thanks
