Anyone know what front automatic lockouts can be replaced with manual ones without that spindle nut kit? Is it the ones with 3 screws or the ones with 5 screws holding on the outer case that require that kit. I saw this on here a while back but now i cant remember or find that. Thanx

The ones with three for sure, they were the ones I had. I think I've read that they ALL need the kit but I'm sure somebody who has done the other will let you know.

Considering the inner nut is torqued then backed off 90*, the washer with pin is inserted and the outer nut is torqued to 160+# and is what is actually locking the assemby, the money seems worth it. NAPA is supposed to have the cheapest prices for the conversion kit.

An old post listed these numbers.

Two of each:

Spindle nut,inner, 660586
spindle nut, outer 621027
lock washer 621028

NAPA is also supposed to be able to cross-reference the parts to Spicer numbers, also supposed to be cheap.

Supposed to be way cheaper than Ford or Warn.

I have a buddy who is doing the same thing but the parts are supposed to be less than $25 at NAPA as opposed to $60 or so for the Warns.

I had the Warn hubs put on mine a couple weeks ago. Cost $400+ but was worth it because I had 3 failures of the automatics.
