Just got the tranny back under the 4dr and hooked to the trailer and headed to the pull, The thing burried the tranny temp so i tunred around and came back to the shop. Saturday morning installed a hayden 405 and a 514 cooler in series with the stock air to fluid cooler (bypassed the radiator cooler) Hooked back up and hit the road. The truck immediatly jumped to 210 but kinda hung thier for a bit. then i sprung an oil leak on the charger pedistal o-rings so i got off the interstate turned around and by the time i got back on the tranny was at 250+++ and stayed thier for the next 5 miles back to the shop. This thing in the other truck with the big cooler never got above 150 hardly and now even unloaded it is at 180 -200 what gives. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

are these two coolers not enough?\

is my factory air to fluid a restiction now?

lines clogged?

should i pull it and install a 6spd??

Which port (front or rear) is the transmission feed and which is the return going to blow some air through and see if they are clogged?

Thanks for the help

Might want to test your fluid flow rate to see if you do have a restriction somewhere. Those temperatures are really high for 'No Load'. The flow rate 'I believe' should be one quart in 15 seconds. If this is wrong...someone please jump in and correct me /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif

You either have a restricted cooler or the converter clutch is not holding/converter shot. Griz is correct on the flow rate, check it warm and at the line that goes into the rear of the case, this will check all the coolers/restrictions.
