When I start up on WVO with the engine still hot (in between stops) I notice the fuel filter light come one when starting.. Goes off once started. I there some sort of temp sensor in the stock fuel bowl that is causing this?

Sounds like a clogged filter to me. I can't remember which light comes on when my filter is clogged. It typically lights up when I romp on the throttle to pass somebody and the engine bogs a little due to a filter restriction. Running normally, it doesn't seem to be a problem.

Speaking of fuel pressure gauges, is that a 1/8" npt plug down on the base of the fuel filter housing... rear of housing, driver's side? I'd like to add a regular electric oil pressure gauge and am wondering if this would be an acceptable port. The idea of drilling and tapping a plastic filter housing doesn't turn me on.

Thanks for the replies. The light only comes on when the glow plugs are charging. Then it shuts off after I start. Usually when I get a clogged filter it will flicker as I start to mash down on the accelerator but right now it's not lighting up. It only lights up when I'm still on WVO after a short stop (engine still hot.. WVO likely hot in stock fuel bowl) and turns off when I start up. That's why I was suspicious of maybe some sort of temperature related thing?
