Hello,

When I first fill the tank, the fuel gauge acts normally. When it gets down to about 1/2 a tank, it flops all the way to the right and stays there until the tank is almost empty. Then it acts normally again. Is this a float problem? How hard is this to fix?

Thanks.

Mine has been doing that for years and years and years...first the front tank then the rear.
Think it's the sender...cure = drop the tanks /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif, screw that, I'm use to it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/vomit.gif

Mine started doing the same thing 2 weeks ago. I don't think it could be the sender because I just replaced it last year about 10,000 miles ago. Mine was working perfect until the ABS fuse blew 2 weeks ago /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif?

the guage going full shows a loss of resistance, so it's either sender or wiring problems...

My was doing the exact thing for a real long time.Wasn't to worried about it.Now it only reads off the front tank and when I touch the brake it the needle on the guage bounces around.Could this be the sender(s)or guage?Or the fuel selector valve on frame?I'm the s$%*s on electrical.
Thanks
Kevin

That sounds more like a problem in the dash printed circuit more than the sender itself.
