Hi guys. New to this site and it's a good one. I am presently driving a 1992 f250 7.3 4x4 5 spd. The thing is like a tank and not too shabby on fuel either. Just wondering if anyone can help me.My fuel guage is spiked right past the full mark. It started doing this two days ago.Don't know if it's a coincidence , but the temp here has been near -30 celcius for a few days. When you click the tank selector , there is no difference, still sits at the over full mark. If this helps, I had 2 new tanks installed at a shop two months ago. When you fill the rear tank, diesel pisses out the filler onto the ground everytime.Front tank doesn't do this. And the other day before my guage issues, my rear tank appeared to be leaking a little, but the switch was set for the front tank??I switched to rear and I never saw any more leaks. The mechanic said it could be the selector valve causing an overfill condition on my rear tank. Also guage read 1/4 before on a road trip, truck started to run out of fuel, switced to other tank and drove home. I'm a noob, and I like my truck even though between gas tanks, glow plugs, etc, it has kind of drained my bank account. And I commute 40 miles one way to work.Anyone have any ideas??? I would appreciate any help.thanx guys.

I can send you the Fuel selector valve info/test.... sounds like a possible switching problem.... with one tank feeding and returning to the other causing an over full situation. Unless the lines were installed incorrectly....... was it like this prior to the tank work.

The running out of fuel may be the in tank pickup was broken off at the 1/4 full mark.. a known problem.

The lines are different sizes 3/8 and 5/16 and could have been reversed... you would need to check them. Click on my name and PM me your email addy.....
