Is it possible to remove the fuel feed and return lines going between the tank and the fuel bowl without removing the oil cooler? I've pulled my fuel bowl out while doing a new water drain valve, ITP return / feed line upgrade on my van, and cannot get one of the old vibra lock ferrels out. I saw someone recommends burning them out, but I don't want to do this while it is in the van. From underneath, there are standard fuel injection quick disconnects, but the lines a soldered together and pass between the block and the oil cooler. Any suggestions?

Dennis from ITP has recommended that I try and push the tube nut and vibra lock ferrel over the flare to get the flare to catch and dig into the Vibra lock fitting. I will let the group know what the outcome is for the thread's completeness. If anyone else has experienced this problem, please let me know.

[/ QUOTE ]You wont hurt anything by doing it.Alot of times I get a seal pick and hold the Flare nut with a pair of vise grips and dig it out.Best not to hold it with your hand cause you slip and Shiskabob your finger with the seal pick is quite painful /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif.Also if you can get the whole line off Just heat the ferrule up with a propane torch and you can get the rubber out easily do it all the time at work.

Yeah, that goes back to the original question though, can the lines be removed w/o taking off the oil cooler? It does not look that difficult to remove, but that is just another 2 gaskets I will have to purchase and wait for them to arrive /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
