my buddy just called me with a problem. he has a 96 powerstroke a lot like mine. however today he stopped at a gas station when he went to leave he got in his truck and noticed there was a lot of diesel fuel ouring out of the backside of his motor. i have not had a chance to make it to his place yet it is an hour away. any quick ideas on what to start to look at first. thanks in advance.

Is it from the engine bay or from under the cab??
If from under the cab look at the metal tubing that connects the fuel lines between the tank(s) and the engine.

Could be the banjo bolt on the fuel pump, the lift pump itself or one of the rubber fuel lines on the lift pump. Also there is the possibility of a hole in the fuel filter canister. These are just a few I can think of real quick.

It's probably coming out of his fuel pump, which sits in the top of the valley back by the turbo.
