I am wanting to set up a temporary gauge to verify my fuel pressure, and shim my Fuel Pressure Regulator if I need to on my 2000 PSD. Some have hooked a fuel line to the drain tube and done it that way. Other's have connected up to the test port on the side of the fuel bowl.

Does anybody have any part numbers for the fitting on the fuel bowl. I understand it's a 7/16-20 threaded port, but I have been unsuccesful at finding a fitting. Someone had posted a NAPA brake fitting part, but the Autozones and O'Reily's are unable to cross reference it.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

Where are you located at? Most hydraulic hose shops will have these fittings in stock. The Aeroquip part numbers are:

22617-4-4S (one end AN-4)
22617-4-6S (one end AN-6)
22617-4-8S (one end AN-8)

For a 90deg fitting substitue the first 5 numbers to 2062 (they only have a -4 & -6, no -8).

These fittings are SAE O-ring boss to 37deg flare (AN fitting).

OK, I've been told on the Ford Euthusiants that adjusting fuel pressure on the 99+ PSDs does not have any benefits. Can someone please confirm this. I've seen a lot of FPR forums that I can't believe were all geared to the pre 99 PSD. Can someone confirm this. Anybody with a 2000 PSD that has received benefit by raising the fuel pressure? Thanks!

Its not so much RAISING it, as MAINTAINING it.

You might be making full pressure at lower RPMs, but losing fuel pressure at the higher RPMs.

So if you can shim it higher, and install a regulated return to maintain your 60-75psi range throughout your RPM band, you should be golden!
