The last three restarts the fuel pressure gauge has moved up 40psi from it's usual 60. It does respond correctly by dropping 5 psi with a good application of right foot. Gauge is a Pricol Optix, running the BB mod for the last 4 years. Old school but it has been perfect. Filters are only 3K old. Is it possible for the pump to put out 100psi?, it doesn't sound strained. Or is the gauge just goofy? Ideas to sort this out please. Thanks team.

Now that the sun is up, tried key on, the gauge goes to 95psi until the pump times out. Then pressure drops to 45 and holds. Can the regulator stick causing the high press? What happens if the pressure is running 95? thanks.Truck is 06 250.

Yes the pump is made to put out 100psi at the frame filter.... i would take out the BB and get the blue spring - its only 50$ and its the right way to do it..., also check for air in the sending unit for the gauge....

Blue spring will be done with a new gauge or sender. Here is the technique to figure it out, pulled the fuel pump fuse while it was idleing, I know about running injectors with low pressure. It quit in one second, gauge still showed 40 psi. Loosened the fuel line fitting to exhaust any pressure, still 40 psi. Some how the gauge is off 40.
