Fuel Pressure Regulator Inquiry

If the thimble screens on the FPR are clogged will the schrader valve still show adequate pressure off the fuel pump???

Basically what I am asking is if the fuel passes through the shrader valve before or after the screens?

If I'm thinking correctly (not always the case /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif ), before the screen. Cheers!
