A quick up-date to the Toe truck. Had the E4OD rebuilt/aluminum planetary replaced with steel. Billet 3 clutch torque converter. Still do not like the shift point from 2nd to third, but 100% better than before.
Been doing a shake down and using it as the DD for the past 2 weeks 100+ miles a day. This morning when I got to work, I could smell some raw diesel- couldn`t see any that had dripped in the parking lot though. Starting up to come home, I felt it was a little hard to crank. All this time it`s running great. Got home and took off the doghouse but all still looked dry. There were a few drops on the driveway on the passenger side about midway. Tried to crank it about an hour later and search for the leak. It wouldn`t crank, but would spin faster like starved for fuel. Came in and searched the forum- Went back out and cracked the #8 injector. At first no fuel then it started spurting and fired up. Let it run for a minute and started getting white smoke and fuel being blown from a fitting that is located on the top and backside of the fuel filter mount. Has a red wire going to it that has been spliced at one time and was very hot to the touch. There was pressure blowing the raw fuel out of the top.
Anyone have any idea of what this is? Fuel heater perhaps? Should it have been hot?
Thanks-- Drayson
