Just installed new injector pump. Doesn't seem to be getting fuel to the injectors now. Any suggestions? I am getting fuel to the injector pump but is there a certain amount of pressure needed from the fuel pump to activate the injector pump? Thanks
The injector pump will pull fuel somewhat so if you are getting any pressure at all to the IP it should go. Supply pumps should run 3-6 psi.
Do you have power to the shut-off solenoid on the IP?
The IP is not "activated" by fuel pressure. It is gear driven and will pump fuel as long as some is present. When you change them, lots of air is introduced into the system. Start by cracking one of the lines from the pump to an injector. run the starter for 20 seconds with a 2 minute rest in between until you see bubbling. Then tighten that one and do another. the IP pumps very little fuel at this low RPM. It might take 2 or 3 injector line bleeds to get enough air out to start.
