Fuel Pump Replacement Question

Does the HFCM fuel pump require some sort of pre-priming after it's replaced? It will be running dry until fuel is pulled up from the tank. Will it prime itself while running dry for the first time?

install it turn they key to the on position for 30 seconds, turn it back off back on wait to start and fire it up.
